3D North Sea case study of reconstruction

چکیده

Irregularly and sparsely sampled seismic data that has been shot with a predominant azimuth for long offsets can be completely reconstructed. Our method uses reposting along receiver lines to exact crossline positions, followed by least squares reconstruction in the midpoint-offset domain. This reconstruction scheme has been applied to a 3D marine dataset from the North Sea. Various aspects and applications of reconstruction are addressed and enlightened with examples from this dataset. The seismic response can be reconstructed at any midpoint and offset location and, optionally, primary reflections can be separated from noise. Imaging after reconstruction shows improved resolution compared to conventional imaging.

3D Reconstruction Using Cubic Bezier Spline Curves and Active Contours (Case Study)

Introduction 3D reconstruction of an object from its 2D cross-sections (slices) has many applications in different fields of sciences such as medical physics and biomedical engineering. In order to perform 3D reconstruction, at first, desired boundaries at each slice are detected and then using a correspondence between points of successive slices surface of desired object is reconstructed. Mate...

3-D computed tomography reconstruction: another tool to teach anatomy in the veterinary colleges

This letter underpins the use of three-dimensional computed tomography (3D-CT) reconstruction as an aid to teach veterinary anatomy. Cases were presented to students in order to observe normal and clinically abnormal patients. The images provided excellent details of relevant structures and could serve as a tool for teaching anatomy. Many sources describe different options to enhance anatomical...

3D focusing regularized inversion of marine transient electromagnetic data: A case study from the Alvheim Field, North Sea

We present a case study leading to the 3D inversion of transient electromagnetic (EM) data for delineating a reservoir’s extent at the Alvheim field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The survey was conducted in July and August 2008 using a two ship operation and ocean bottom cables. One ship laid a receiver cable with 30 receiver nodes on the sea floor. The second ship placed a source c...

Ultra-Fast Image Reconstruction of Tomosynthesis Mammography Using GPU

Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) is a technology that creates three dimensional (3D) images of breast tissue. Tomosynthesis mammography detects lesions that are not detectable with other imaging systems. If image reconstruction time is in the order of seconds, we can use Tomosynthesis systems to perform Tomosynthesis-guided Interventional procedures. This research has been designed to study u...
